Emily Villeneuve, BScHK – Registered Physiotherapist
Emily is a 2021 graduate of the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program at Queen’s University and is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Before her physiotherapy education, she achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph in 2018.
Emily’s passion for movement and health began playing sports and regularly engaging in physical activity at a very young age. Since then, she has continued this passion through her education and active lifestyle. With Emily’s personal and educational experience, Emily can help clients restore, maintain and optimize physical function using a client-centered, active, and evidence-based approach. Emily is a strong believer in “exercise is medicine”, and this motto is reflected in her treatment style, which focuses on exercise, education and hands-on-techniques.
Since graduation, Emily has worked in both the private practice and hospital settings and has experience treating clients with a variety of neuromuscular, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal injuries or conditions. In particular, she loves working with athletes and active individuals of all ages that are aiming to get back into a sport or an activity they really enjoy. She has her Level 1 in Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and has education and experience in treating sports injuries on and off the field. She is eager to continue building her physiotherapy skills and continue to work towards being the best practitioner she can be for her patients.
Outside the clinic, you can find Emily hiking, camping, playing sports, or getting a good workout in at the gym. When Emily needs a break from all the hustle-and-bustle, you can find her doing yoga, snapping photos of landscapes and nature, or cuddling up with her fur baby, Leia. Emily is thrilled to be a part of the Bruce County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation team and is eager to help the community get back to the activities they love!
