Sasha Hammell MPT, HBa (Kin)

Sasha is a registered physiotherapist and a graduate of the Masters of Physical Therapy program from The University of Western Ontario. At UWO she was a member of the varsity figure skating team. Prior to her masters she graduated with an honours degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University where she was a member of the women’s softball team. Her professional experiences include volunteering at various London marathons, treating at the Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, and working with the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks Sr. A hockey team for 4 years.

Sasha’s keen interest in sports and orthopaedics have guided her studies and continued her development into these areas as a physiotherapist. Her previous clinical experience and continuing education has provided her with a strong foundation in managing various musculoskeletal injuries and conditions ranging from muscle strains, ligament sprains, pre & post-surgical conditions, acute injuries, repetitive strain & rotator cuff injuries, and chronic pain. Sasha’s passion lies in helping individuals regain function and pursue an active and healthy lifestyle. She believes that her patients will achieve this through active participation in rehabilitation, and that the first step is a thorough understanding of their condition to give them the education they need to empower themselves to get better. Her philosophy involves a patient centered approach by working with each client towards their individual goals and combining education, manual therapy, active rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities to meet these goals.

Sasha’s great love of sports arose from years of competitive figure skating and playing provincial level softball. She is currently a part of an adult synchronized figure skating team, and is a member of the Chepstow Diamonds Women’s Softball Team. Sasha is an avid volleyball player, snowboarder, and tabata enthusiast. She also enjoys participating in other activities including hiking, rollerblading, running, golfing, and dodgeball. In her free time, Sasha enjoys travelling, and spending time at the beach with her golden retriever Dawson.

Sasha is currently licensed and registered to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
